Tung Weld Coatings

Kram Engineering (Pty) Ltd supply and apply a range of locally developed Tungsten Carbide based products. Tung Weld consist of Graded Tungsten Carbide particles disseminated into a hardface weld base to form an extremely wear resistant layer, used extensively in high wear areas such as ground engaging equipment, drill-bits, disintegrators, crushers, etc.

The material is applied using the MIG Welding process combined with an imported vibrating feeder mechanism to feed the tungsten particles into the weld pool.

The standard tungsten particles are 1-2mm in size but several types of weld bases are used depending on the specific application.
